Were seeking an experienced
Accountant to support Australian business and individual clients across compliance, reporting, and advisory work. This role suits someone with strong technical capability, excellent attention to detail, and deep experience working with
Australian entities using Xero.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements for Australian companies, trusts, and individuals
- Prepare BAS, IAS, and tax workpapers in line with Australian compliance requirements
- Manage and reconcile Xero files, including bank reconciliations and reporting
- Assist with year-end accounts and liaison with senior accountants and directors
- Maintain accurate documentation and working papers
- Support ongoing process improvements and workflow efficiencies
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years accounting experience working with Australian companies
- Extensive, hands-on experience using Xero (daily use)
- Strong understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Nice to Have
- SMSF experience (preparation, reconciliations, or compliance support)
- Experience with Xero Practice Manager, BGL, or similar systems
- Exposure to fixed-fee or subscription-based accounting models
- Experience working with offshore teams supporting Australian firms
