Job Description

Position Title: Accountant

Experience Level: Mid-level (5+ Years)

Employment Type: Full-time

Location:Subic/Makati

Department: Finance / Accounting

Reports To: Accounting Manager / Finance Manager

Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with at least five (5) years of professional experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and experience handling endtoend financial processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to management.

General Accounting

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Perform bank, account, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).

Tax & Compliance

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and statutory reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in annual budgeting and periodic forecasting activities.
  • Monitor actual expenses against budget and flag financial discrepancies.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls.
  • Support implementation of new accounting tools or ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA certification is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and local tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Xero).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Excellent analytical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
