The Accountant, Financial Reporting is responsible for the execution of assigned accounting areas during month-end close and reporting. The role ensures that journal entries, reconciliations, payroll-related entries, tax compliance requirements, and reporting schedules are prepared accurately and within established timelines, under the direction of the Supervisor and Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare accurate journal entries for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, with complete supporting documentation.
Ensure completion of assigned close tasks within the approved close calendar
Review transactions for proper cut-off and completeness
Escalate issues affecting balances or timelines to the Supervisor
Prepare accurate journal entries with complete supporting documentation
Record payroll entries based on approved payroll reports, including salaries, benefits, bonuses, accruals, and statutory deductions
Ensure proper recognition of employer contributions and payroll-related liabilities
Maintain organized working papers and complete audit trail for all postings
Ensure correct account classification and consistent application of accounting policies
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, including payroll and tax-related accounts
Investigate and clear reconciling items on a timely basis
Provide explanations for material movements and variances when required
Prepare assigned schedules, roll forwards, and templates for consolidation
Submit reporting deliverables within required timelines
Assist in management and statutory reporting requirements
Prepare schedules and documentation required for tax filings such as VAT, withholding taxes, payroll-related taxes, DST, and other applicable taxes
Assist in preparation and filing of tax returns within statutory deadlines
Reconcile tax-related accounts and ensure balances are properly supported
Coordinate with Tax team and external advisors as needed
Coordinate with Financial Operations, Treasury, Tax, and HR for reconciliation and cut-off matters
Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit queries for assigned accounts
Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Financial Reporting Supervisor and Manager
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-3 years of accounting experience, especially in preparation of financial reports.
Strong understanding of accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Experience with ERP system, preferably Workday.
Prior exposure to the gaming industry is an advantage.
Familiarity with intercompany transactions and financial consolidations.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and external audit processes.
Working knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, including preparation and review of tax returns.
Experience in electronic tax filing (eFPS/eBIRForms) and coordination with tax authorities.
