The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing key modern trade accounts (e.g., department stores, home improvement chains, and large-format retailers) within the furniture category. This role ensures strong in-store execution, sales performance, and strategic partnerships with retail buyers while aligning brand presence with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle modern trade accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and category managers
- Lead regular business reviews and performance discussions
- Drive sell-in and sell-out performance across assigned accounts
- Monitor sales targets, margins, and profitability
- Identify opportunities for expansion, assortment growth, and new listings
- Ensure proper product display, visual merchandising, and brand presence in-store
- Coordinate with store operations for stock availability and replenishment
- Oversee promo execution, activations, and in-store campaigns
- Analyze sales data, competitor activity, and market trends in furniture retail
- Recommend pricing, assortment, and promotional strategies
- Provide insights to internal teams for demand planning and product development
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and operations teams
- Manage merchandisers or account officers assigned to stores
- Ensure execution standards and KPI achievement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- 3–6+ years experience in modern trade, key account management, or retail sales
- Preferably from furniture, home, appliances, or FMCG industries
- Strong understanding of modern trade operations (listing, promos, negotiations)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
