Job Description

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing key modern trade accounts (e.g., department stores, home improvement chains, and large-format retailers) within the furniture category. This role ensures strong in-store execution, sales performance, and strategic partnerships with retail buyers while aligning brand presence with overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle modern trade accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and category managers
  • Lead regular business reviews and performance discussions
  • Drive sell-in and sell-out performance across assigned accounts
  • Monitor sales targets, margins, and profitability
  • Identify opportunities for expansion, assortment growth, and new listings
  • Ensure proper product display, visual merchandising, and brand presence in-store
  • Coordinate with store operations for stock availability and replenishment
  • Oversee promo execution, activations, and in-store campaigns
  • Analyze sales data, competitor activity, and market trends in furniture retail
  • Recommend pricing, assortment, and promotional strategies
  • Provide insights to internal teams for demand planning and product development
  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and operations teams
  • Manage merchandisers or account officers assigned to stores
  • Ensure execution standards and KPI achievement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
  • 3–6+ years experience in modern trade, key account management, or retail sales
  • Preferably from furniture, home, appliances, or FMCG industries
  • Strong understanding of modern trade operations (listing, promos, negotiations)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
