Job Purpose
Accounts Staff is responsible for underwriting Policies within authority limits; Oversees and manages the accurate and timely issuance and release of policies / endorsements; Contributes in the servicing and Account Management in coordination with Accounts.
Roles and Responsibilities
Underwriting
- Performs underwriting within authority limits and ensures avoidance of bad risks in line with company's underwriting principles and guidelines.
- Sets Premium Rates / Terms and Conditions for Engineering products and Special Accounts within authority limits as favorable to the Company as possible by utilizing appropriate negotiation techniques/skills.
Policy Issuance
- Prepares complete working file for policies to be issued to serve as basis for encoding.
Solicitation of New Business
- Ensures expansion of business by maintaining good relationships with agents, brokers, direct clients and reinsurers.
- Keeps track of requirements of brokers through verbal and/or written inquiries.
Servicing of Direct Accounts, Brokers and Agents
- Ensures that renewing programs are renewed in a timely manner through adequate monitoring.
- Responds to queries received from clients in a timely manner.
- Negotiates terms & conditions of policies and renewals.
- Prepares, monitors and follow-ups quotation statuses.
Collection
- Assures timely and persistent follow-ups of Account Receivables.
- Periodically reviews collection performance of intermediaries assigned in order to identify and avoid business with perennially delinquent clients.
Reinsurance
- Maintains good relationship with Facultative Reinsurers by making sure that outward facultative reinsurance requirements are met on time.
Qualifications
- Graduate of bachelor's degree course preferably business-related degree.
- Knowledge and experience in Insurance Industry is an advantage.
- At least 1 year of experience in the same role; Fresh grads are encouraged to apply.
- Good people skills.

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
