About the Role
iSupport Worldwide is seeking a highly technical and detail-oriented US Retirement Plan Administrator to support the accurate and compliant administration of U.S. qualified retirement plans, including 401(k) and Cash Balance plans. This is a technical compliance and administration position (not sales), supporting fiduciaries, advisors, CPAs, and plan sponsors.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle administration for 401(k) and Cash Balance plans in compliance with IRS and Department of Labor regulations.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance testing (ADP/ACP, 402(g), 404(a), 410(b), 414(s), 415, 416 Top-Heavy).
- Determine plan eligibility and participation, including identification of HCEs and Key Employees.
- Calculate and process corrections, excess contributions, and lost earnings.
- Prepare participant notices, plan amendments, restatements, and compliance deliverables.
- Perform annual trust accounting and full trust reconciliation.
- Prepare and review Form 5500 and 5330 filings and all required supporting schedules.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and follow established procedures and workflow standards.
- Communicate professionally with advisors, CPAs, payroll providers, investment partners, and plan sponsors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on U.S. retirement plan administration experience.
- Strong working knowledge of 401(k) and Cash Balance plan rules and compliance standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, complex formulas).
- Experience with retirement plan administration and compliance software (ftwilliam preferred, Relius or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in trust accounting and reconciling complex data sets.
- Experience with contribution calculation and non-discrimination testing.
