YouTube Video Editor & Scriptwriter

About the Role

We are a growing YouTube content company looking for a talented and experienced YouTube Video Editor & Scriptwriter to join our team full-time. This is a remote position.

We create engaging, high-retention content across two primary niches:

1.Police Bodycam & True Crime Content Compelling narratives built around real bodycam footage, arrests, and courtroom developments

2.Finance & Scam Expos Content Investigative-style videos covering financial scams, fraud cases, and money-related stories

You will be responsible for the entire video production process from researching and scripting to editing and final delivery. We need someone who understands YouTube's algorithm, viewer psychology, and what makes content go viral.

What You'll Do

Script Writing: Research topics, write compelling scripts with strong hooks, and structure narratives that keep viewers watching until the end

Video Editing: Edit footage with professional pacing, transitions, sound design, and visual effects that match YouTube best practices

Hook Creation: Craft irresistible opening hooks (first 30 seconds) that grab attention and reduce early drop-off

Thumbnail Concepts: Suggest thumbnail ideas and text overlays that drive high click-through rates

Voiceover Integration: Work with AI voiceovers or direct voice talent, ensuring natural pacing and emotional delivery

Captions & Text: Add engaging captions, text overlays, and on-screen graphics to boost retention

Research & Fact-Checking: Gather accurate information, news updates, and case details to create authoritative content

Continuous Improvement: Analyze video performance, study competitors, and implement learnings to improve future content

Requirements

Must-Have:

Proven YouTube experience You must have edited videos that are currently published on YouTube with real traction (views, engagement)

Portfolio of published work Links to YouTube videos you have edited and/or scripted (channels you've worked on or your own)

Strong scriptwriting skills Ability to write engaging narratives, not just edit footage

Understanding of YouTube algorithm Knowledge of retention, CTR, hooks, pacing, and what makes videos perform

Proficiency in editing software Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar

Reliable internet & availability This is a full-time remote role requiring consistent communication and delivery

Nice-to-Have:

Experience in bodycam, true crime, or documentary-style content

Experience in finance, business, or investigative content

Familiarity with AI voiceover tools (ElevenLabs, Murf, etc.)

Basic thumbnail design skills (Photoshop, Canva)

Experience working with FOIA requests or public records

Knowledge of SEO, titles, and metadata optimization
