Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced On-Site Planner to join our wind turbine project team for utility-scale wind power projects. This role involves developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure all construction and erection activities are delivered on time. The Planner works closely with project managers, construction teams, and subcontractors to provide accurate progress reporting and schedule analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, maintain, and update the overall project master schedule and detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6, covering all phases from site preparation, civil works, turbine erection, electrical installation, to commissioning.
  • Establish work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity coding in P6 to enable effective schedule monitoring and reporting.
  • Conduct regular schedule updates based on actual field progress, identify variances, and perform critical path analysis to assess schedule impacts.
  • Prepare and issue weekly and monthly schedule progress reports, S-curves, histograms, and look-ahead plans for project management and client review.
  • Coordinate with construction, civil, electrical, and erection teams to collect accurate progress data and validate field inputs against planned activities.
  • Identify schedule risks and delays, perform what-if scenario analysis, and recommend recovery plans and mitigation measures to the Project Manager.
  • Support the preparation of baseline schedules, schedule narratives, and time impact analyses (TIA) for variation and claim management purposes.
  • Interface with subcontractors and suppliers to integrate their detailed schedules into the master program and monitor compliance.
  • Maintain resource-loaded schedules and support manpower and equipment planning in alignment with project milestones.
  • Assist in the preparation of project progress presentations for client meetings, internal reviews, and steering committee reporting.
  • Ensure schedule documentation is properly version-controlled and filed in accordance with project document control procedures.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of planning experience on construction or energy projects, preferably within the wind or renewable energy sector.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory; experience with Microsoft Project is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path method (CPM), and earned value management (EVM).
  • Experience developing resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules for large-scale EPC or BOP projects.
  • Familiarity with wind farm construction activities including civil works, cable installation, turbine erection, and substation construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for reporting and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple schedule deliverables under tight deadlines.
  • English proficiency is required; knowledge of local language is an advantage.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Based on-site at wind farm construction locations; routine interaction with team mainly from China and local. May involve rotational shifts and extended hours during key project phases. For construction project is 6 working days per week.
