About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced WSH Manager to lead and drive Workplace Safety, Health, Environmental (EHS), and sustainability initiatives across its operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements, fostering a strong safety culture, and continuously improving the organisation's EHS management systems and performance.

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a zero-accident culture, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with Singapore's regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Workplace Safety, Health, Environmental (EHS), and sustainability programs across the organisation.
  • Promote and drive a zero-accident culture in support of the company's EHS objectives and performance targets.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate EHS policies, industry best practices, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor statutory and regulatory updates, assess business impact, and develop policies, procedures, and implementation plans to ensure compliance.
  • Lead and facilitate internal and external EHS audits, inspections, compliance reviews, and sustainability assessments.
  • Organise and chair regular safety meetings, site inspections, and EHS reviews while monitoring the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all incidents, accidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses are properly reported, investigated, documented, and followed up with corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement EHS training programs to improve safety awareness and competency across all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide professional EHS advice and support to project teams, operational departments, contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety reviews for equipment, machinery, and work processes.
  • Promote safety awareness and ensure employees understand their responsibilities under applicable EHS regulations and company requirements.
  • Manage applications, renewals, and approvals of EHS-related licences, permits, and certifications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety, environmental performance, and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree or professional qualification in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant EHS experience within Singapore's construction industry.
  • Experience in LTA infrastructure projects will be highly advantageous.
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM.
  • Registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with NEA.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore Workplace Safety & Health regulations, environmental regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience developing, reviewing, and implementing corporate EHS policies and procedures.
  • Leadership and people management training certification will be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, management, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and committed to driving a strong safety culture across the organisation.
  • Candidates available immediately or on short notice will have an advantage.
