Dealer Lux is hiring a WordPress Theme Developer.

We already have a development team and a WordPress platform used across our dealership websites. What we're missing is someone on the development side who really cares about the last 10% of the front end, especially how the finished site actually looks and feels.

You should be able to take an approved design or rough direction, build it cleanly in WordPress, and notice when spacing, typography, hierarchy, mobile behavior, or UX still feels off without waiting for someone else to point out every detail. If you're the kind of developer who notices a bad mobile layout before someone files a ticket, that's a good sign.

Most of the early work is practical. Our Website Launch team gets dealership websites most of the way there. You'll step in on the parts that need code:

• Finish headers, footers, typography, colors, and responsive layouts.
• Fix front-end and WordPress issues found before launch.
• Handle theme-level customizations in our existing custom WordPress theme.
• Build or improve Gutenberg blocks and reusable front-end components.

The bigger goal is to stop solving the same problem twice. As you see the same requests come up, you'll help turn them into reusable theme settings, components, and tools. One of the larger projects ahead is modernizing our existing Gutenberg block library toward a consistent JSX-based structure.

WHAT WE CARE ABOUT

• 2+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
• Experience working on custom WordPress themes.
• Strong HTML/CSS and responsive front-end skills.
• Working knowledge of PHP and JavaScript, plus comfort with Git.
• Familiarity with JSX or component-based JavaScript.
• Experience with Gutenberg / the Block Editor.
• Good visual judgment. The finished interface should matter to you. That includes spacing, typography, hierarchy, responsiveness, and usability.

Custom Gutenberg block experience, @wordpress/scripts, React, and Figma are all useful. It is fine if one or two of those are newer to you, as long as your WordPress, JavaScript, and front-end fundamentals are strong.

Dealer Lux builds websites and marketing systems for specialty dealers across North America. Around 25 members of our team are based in the Philippines, several have been with us since 2022, and some have grown from junior roles into department leadership. You'll report directly to our CTO and work closely with the people who built the platform, along with our Development and Website Launch teams. Good work here can improve many dealership websites instead of disappearing into a single one-off project.

There's also room to grow. Over time, this role can take on more ownership of reusable theme systems, Gutenberg blocks, internal tools, and the broader WordPress platform.

THE PRACTICAL STUFF

• $1,200-$1,600 USD/month, based on experience.
• Full-time contractor, 40 hours/week.
• Paid every two weeks through Wise.
• At least four hours of daily Pacific Time overlap for the first three months; after onboarding, most hours can be arranged more flexibly around meetings and communication.
• Clockify for time tracking. No screenshot or screen-recording monitoring.
• Paid time off.
• AI coding tools are welcome. We care that you understand, test, and own the work you ship.
