Job Description

You will assist in all aspects of WordPress website development, maintenance, and digital solutions delivery, with responsibilities that may extend beyond those listed below. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising WordPress websites, ensuring they are secure, responsive, and aligned with client requirements. You will collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality web solutions while contributing to continuous improvements in website performance and user experience.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, customise, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
  • Build responsive, user-friendly websites across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Convert approved designs into functional WordPress websites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, bugs, and performance problems.
  • Optimise website speed, security, SEO, and overall performance.
  • Perform website updates, backups, migrations, and deployments.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and other business systems where required.
  • Conduct testing to ensure website functionality and compatibility across browsers and devices.
  • Provide ongoing website maintenance, technical support, and content updates.
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow development best practices.
  • Stay up to date with WordPress technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.

Requirements:


  • A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in WordPress development.
  • Strong experience with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Experience developing custom themes and working with WordPress plugins.
  • Experience with page builders such as Elementor or Gutenberg.
  • Knowledge of responsive web development, website security, SEO, and performance optimisation.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and external platforms is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Honest, reliable, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.
