About The Role
Grandspan Development Corporation is seeking a Welding Inspector to join our dynamic team in Binangonan Rizal. As a Welding Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of welding processes in our manufacturing facility. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining the high standards of our products and services.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assists clients in their plant and site inspection requirements
- Perform day to day decision making whether each finished goods after thorough inspection and evaluation are accepted prior to the next stage and/or upon presentation to the client
- Conduct site inspection and from time to time assist Construction Project Engineer in the Supervision of erection of works on site
- Conduct non-destructive testing of welded connections of work in progress and finished goods prior to delivery to see to it that they follow internationally accepted engineering codes and/or customers requirements
- Must demonstrate proficiency in multiple international welding codes including AWS D1.1, ASTM, SSPC and AISC
- Candidates must demonstrate practical working experience and proficiency in AWS D1.1, ASTM, SSPC and AISC codes through hands-on application rather than formal certification
- Approve all raw materials for consumption of the plant after a thorough evaluation of the Certified Mill Test Report (CMTR)
- Review, familiarize and interpret drawings and other related documents for inspection purposes
- Generate non-conformance report for every specific item that does not comply to the specification or with the fabrication plan. Analyze process errors so that appropriate and practical solutions are recommended
- Prepare material receiving inspection, dimensional, visual, welding inspection and painting reports of all fabricated items
- Conducts dimensional inspection as per drawing requirement and visual inspection based on the internationally approved standards
- Follow safety rules and regulations and company's code of discipline
What We're Looking For
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
- With experience as NDT Technician.
- Must hold certifications in multiple NDT methods as required for comprehensive testing capabilities
- Must hold certifications in Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) to ensure comprehensive NDT capabilities
- Candidates must hold certifications in all major NDT methods to ensure comprehensive testing capabilities
- Minimum of 5 years steel fabrication experience is required for this position
- Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of steel fabrication experience for this role.
- Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector or ASNT NDT Level II, would be an advantage
