We're looking for an experienced MS Azure Databricks Developer to join our growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled data engineering professional who thrives on building scalable cloud-based data solutions and leveraging the latest Azure technologies.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising enterprise-grade data platforms, ETL pipelines, and data-driven applications, working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL and data integration pipelines using Azure Databricks and PySpark.
- Build and manage Databricks Unity Catalog and data lake environments.
- Develop cloud-native data solutions and applications leveraging Azure services.
- Integrate Databricks with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, and Power BI.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners to deliver end-to-end data products and business solutions.
- Optimise Databricks notebooks and workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Implement data governance, security, and quality standards across the platform.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data processing, deployment, and application performance.
- Support CI/CD processes and release management activities.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and data architecture artifacts.
What We're Looking ForQualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification.
- Databricks Data Engineer Associate certification (Professional certification highly regarded).
Essential Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years experience working with Azure Databricks, PySpark, and cloud-based data engineering solutions.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, SQL Database, and Synapse Analytics.
- Proven experience building and deploying enterprise data pipelines and cloud applications.
- Strong understanding of big data technologies, distributed computing, and data modelling principles.
- Experience with GitHub, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and release management processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation platforms.
- Knowledge of Databricks MLflow, AI/Genie, GenAI, and machine learning concepts.
- Exposure to DevOps practices within cloud environments.
- Experience working in Agile delivery teams.
