Assistant Supervisor – Warehouse Operations

We are seeking a driven and hands-on Assistant Supervisor – Warehouse Operations to oversee inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse storage management, and team leadership activities. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient warehouse operations, accurate inventory control, proper shipment handling, and strict compliance with safety and operational standards while leading warehouse personnel and supporting continuous improvement initiative
Job Responsibilities:
Inbound & Outbound Logistics
- Oversee receiving of incoming materials and finished goods, ensuring accurate counting, inspection, and documentation
- Implement efficient receiving processes including unloading, sorting, and quality checking
- Allocate manpower based on shipment volume and operational requirements
- Coordinate with suppliers and transporters to resolve discrepancies and delivery issues
- Ensure proper documentation and system recording of all warehouse transactions
- Manage finished goods shipment processes, ensuring compliance with quality and delivery requirements
- Coordinate with production and sales teams for shipment scheduling and order fulfillment
- Monitor loading and dispatch activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Conduct regular audits on shipment accuracy and documentation compliance
Warehouse Storage Management
- Oversee warehouse organization, storage efficiency, and space utilization
- Implement and monitor inventory control practices including cycle counting and reconciliation
- Develop and optimize warehouse layout for efficient operations
- Conduct regular inspections of storage areas to ensure safety and compliance
- Supervise scrap collection, classification, and proper disposal processes
- Maintain accurate records of scrap materials and disposal activities
- Support initiatives to reduce waste and improve material utilization
- Analyze warehouse performance data and identify improvement opportunities
- Promote continuous improvement and implement process enhancements
- Conduct staff performance evaluations and support training and development
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff to achieve operational goals
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive working environment
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals and address concerns
- Monitor performance and provide coaching and corrective feedback
- Handle conflict resolution and support workforce discipline management
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in warehouse operations (receiving, storage, shipping) in manufacturing or distribution
- Proven experience in supervising and managing warehouse teams
- Strong background in inventory control, cycle counting, and reconciliation
- Experience in shipment coordination and logistics documentation
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of scrap handling and warehouse safety practices
