The Senior Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for end-to-end supply chain execution, covering warehouse operations, inventory management, and nationwide distribution logistics. This role ensures high service level (fill rate), optimal inventory health, cost efficiency, and operational scalability, while transitioning operations from manual / person-dependent processes to system-driven, data-enabled workflows. The position plays a critical role in aligning warehouse and logistics operations with sales demand, trade requirements, and business growth targets, ensuring that products are available, delivered on time, and executed efficiently across all channels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee end-to-end warehouse operations: inbound, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure inventory accuracy (IRA) and strict adherence to FEFO / FIFO principles.
- Maintain optimal warehouse layout, space utilization, and process flow efficiency.
- Enforce health, safety, hygiene, and security standards across all warehouse sites.
- Drive standardization of SOPs across all warehouse locations.
2. Logistics & Distribution Management
- Lead nationwide distribution and transportation operations, ensuring:
- On-time delivery (OTIF)
- Route efficiency
- Cost optimization
- Manage 3PL providers, trucking partners, and freight negotiations.
- Oversee delivery planning, dispatch scheduling, and last-mile execution.
- Ensure real-time tracking and resolution of delivery issues.
- Optimize transport cost per case / per delivery.
3. Inventory & Demand Alignment
- Align warehouse and logistics operations with:
- Sales forecasts
- Demand planning
- Trade requirements (Watsons, Mercury, etc.)
- Prevent:
- Stock-outs (OOS)
- Overstock / aging inventory
- Drive inventory turnover improvement and working capital efficiency.
4. Performance Management & KPI Delivery
- Own and deliver key operational KPIs:
- Fill Rate / Customer Service Level (CSL)
- On-Shelf Availability (OSA support)
- Order Fulfillment Lead Time
- Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA)
- Logistics Cost to Sales Ratio
- Establish real-time dashboards and reporting systems for management visibility.
- Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews.
5. Process Improvement & Systemization
- Lead transition from manual operations → system-driven processes:
- WMS (Warehouse Management System)
- TMS (Transport Management System)
- Identify and implement:
- Automation opportunities
- Workflow optimization
- Cost reduction initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement projects (quarterly initiatives).
6. Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead warehouse managers, supervisors, logistics coordinators, and fleet teams.
- Ensure proper manpower planning and workforce productivity.
- Develop team through:
- Training
- KPI alignment
- Performance management
- Build a culture of accountability, urgency, and operational excellence.
7. Cross-Functional Alignment
Coordinate closely with:
- Sales (for delivery priorities & trade execution)
- Demand Planning (for forecasting)
- Purchasing (for inbound planning)
- Finance (for cost control & budget)
- Ensure seamless execution from supplier → warehouse → customer.
8. Strategic Planning & Capacity Management
Lead:
- Warehouse expansion planning
- Capacity utilization strategy
- Peak season readiness (promo, campaigns)
- Support annual business planning and supply chain strategy.
- Ensure operations are scalable to support growth (e.g., Watsons expansion, e-commerce growth).
