The Warehouse Custodian is responsible for the overall management, organization, and security of the branch warehouse. The role ensures accurate inventory control, proper receiving and dispatch of products, compliance with storage and safety standards, and supports efficient warehouse operations to maintain product quality and availability.
- Warehouse Maintenance and Management
- Performs and oversees daily cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse in accordance with 5S principles.
- Manages and organizes products in the stockroom following FIFO / FEFO standards to ensure an orderly, efficient, and compliant warehouse.
- Monitors and maintains proper warehouse ventilation, temperature, and humidity levels to preserve product quality.
- Implements and enforces warehouse security guidelines in the stockroom and store areas.
- Controls access to the stockroom and ensures that only authorized personnel are allowed entry.
- Ensures proper storage, stacking, and handling of products in line with safety and storage standards.
- Ensures overall warehouse safety and security, including identification and mitigation of risks and hazards.
- Checking and Receiving of Deliveries
- Verifies and ensures the accuracy of the quantity and quality of delivered products against approved delivery documents.
- Ensures completeness, accuracy, and proper filing of all receiving and inventory-related documents.
- Investigates, documents, and reports any variances, damages, or discrepancies and coordinates resolution with concerned parties.
- Inventory Management
- Conducts and ensures accuracy of daily cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.
- Leads and performs wall-to-wall physical inventory counts as required.
- Plans and prepares warehouse space for incoming deliveries, ensuring adequate and appropriate storage capacity.
- Manages and maintains product organization in the supermarket area in accordance with approved planograms and monthly trade marketing guidelines, including booster and promotional displays.
- Oversees and supports the preparation, packaging, release, and dispatch of outgoing deliveries to dealers or other branches, including stock transfers and returns.
- Monitors and ensures that the aging of unfulfilled or unserved invoice orders is within prescribed policies and escalates exceptions as necessary.
