Job Summary:
The Warehouse Asset and Maintenance Engineer is responsible for overseeing the inventory, tracking, and maintenance of all construction equipment, tools, and materials housed in the warehouse. This includes managing warehouse staff, coordinating repairs and servicing, ensuring asset availability for job sites, and implementing systems to optimize asset utilization and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset & Inventory Management:
- Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain accurate asset and inventory records using asset tracking/monitoring system.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
- Tag and log all new assets and ensure proper documentation is in place.
- Coordinate asset allocation and transport to and from job sites.
Maintenance Management:
- Schedule regular maintenance, inspections, and servicing of construction equipment and tools.
- Maintain maintenance logs and ensure compliance with manufacturer and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with external vendors for major repairs or specialized maintenance.
- Monitor equipment performance and proactively address issues to reduce downtime.
Warehouse Operations:
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff (mechanics, electrician etc..)
- Ensure efficient warehouse layout, storage practices, and cleanliness.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor warehouse KPIs (equipment utilization, downtime, asset turnover, etc.).
Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on inventory status, maintenance schedules, and asset utilization.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Manage asset lifecycle – acquisition, usage, maintenance, and disposal.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering - Mechanical
- Proven experience in warehouse or asset management, preferably in a construction or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction equipment and tools.
- Familiarity with Asset Tracking System
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage teams and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable in getting hands-on mechanical works (inspections, repairs, trade test...)
- Comfortable working in warehouse and outdoor environments.
- May require occasional site visits or travel.
