Job Description

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse, inventory, distribution, and transportation activities to ensure the efficient movement of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods. This role ensures inventory accuracy, food safety compliance, on-time deliveries, cost-effective logistics operations, and continuous improvement of warehouse processes in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage capacity to maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Minimize inventory discrepancies, product damage, and material losses.
  • Manage transportation planning and scheduling to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, sales, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for logistics cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with customer delivery requirements and service level agreements.
  • Resolve delivery issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure warehouse operations comply with GMP, HACCP, Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper product traceability and FIFO/FEFO inventory practices.
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, pest control, and temperature monitoring where applicable.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy above established company targets.
  • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Analyze inventory turnover and aging reports.
  • Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and staff.
  • Establish performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Schedule manpower effectively to meet operational requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Maintain warehouse security and loss prevention measures.
  • Investigate incidents and implement preventive actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Implement Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs and prepare management reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of warehouse and logistics experience, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • At least 5 years in a managerial role.
