About The Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Video Editor to support their end-to-end video content production workflow. This role will focus on editing long-form video content, repurposing footage into short-form social clips, organizing project files, and ensuring content is polished, on-brand, and ready for distribution across digital platforms.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, inquisitive, and eager to understand each client's content style and workflow. They should be able to manage project details, transcribe content accurately, communicate clearly, and deliver polished video outputs with minimal handholding.
Responsibilities
- Short-Form Video Editing: Edit short interviews, job site walkthroughs, project updates, and podcast-style videos into polished content.
- Long-Form Repurposing: Turn long-form footage into engaging short-form clips for social media and other channels.
- Content Selection: Identify key moments from raw footage and shape them into clear, compelling stories.
- Full Episode and Clip Editing: Support both full-length episode editing and shorter clip creation based on content needs.
- Content Flow and Client Understanding: Develop a strong understanding of the content style, client needs, and editing flow to serve as the main video editor.
- Quality Control: Ensure videos are well-paced, visually clean, and aligned with the brand's content style.
- English Comprehension & Transcription: Transcribe spoken English accurately and clean up transcripts for clarity, grammar, and readability.
Competencies And Qualifications
Must-Have
- 2+ years of video editing experience
- Experience editing video content such as interviews, podcasts, YouTube videos, social media clips, or documentary-style footage.
- Experience creating short-form social media videos, such as reels, shorts, promotional clips, or highlight clips.
- Experience repurposing long-form footage into engaging short-form clips for social media, YouTube, or other digital platforms.
- Proficient in editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong understanding of pacing, audio cleanup, captions, and basic visual enhancement.
- Able to work independently and manage recurring video projects efficiently.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience editing YouTube channel content, podcasts, event footage, job site walkthroughs, or project update videos.
- Familiarity with editing event footage, job site walkthroughs, or project update videos.
- Experience using project management tools such as Basecamp, Asana, Trello, Monday.com, or similar.
- Experience working in a production company, creative agency, or video/content production environment
