Video Editor

MoneyGeek is looking for a talented social media video editor who can help us grow our content across multiple platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this role, you'll be a creative force behind MoneyGeek's video content strategy. You'll create compelling, user-focused videos that not only educate our audience about personal finance and insurance but directly contribute to growing our user base and driving significant traffic to our platform. Your work will have a measurable impact on our business growth as you develop content that resonates with users seeking financial guidance.

HOURS & COMPENSATION

Remote Position that requires at least 24 hours of work day overlap with US time zones. Ability to have more hours overlapping will be a consideration for the hire.

Role is a full-time, long term, contractor position

75,000-102,000 PHP per month / $1,400 to $1,900 USD per month based on experience and qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Edit long-form educational content (8+ minutes) for YouTube that mixes educational content with entertainment

Edit engaging short-form videos (30s-1min) for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts

Create click-worthy thumbnails for long-form and short-form videos

Work with provided raw footage, scripts, b-roll, and editing notes to produce 2 long-form videos and 5 shorts per week

Add captions, transitions, b-roll, motion graphics, and music to enhance storytelling

Clean up audio, remove filler words, awkward pauses, and background noise

Export high-quality final versions of videos for multiple platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook)

Match the tone and pacing of viral educational and skit-style videos

Stay up-to-date with social media trends, audio styles, and visual formats

Collaborate with our team via shared drives and communication platforms

REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of video editing experience, preferably creating content for social media platforms

Strong portfolio demonstrating both short-form social content and longer educational videos

Proficiency in chosen professional video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Final Cut, etc.)

Experience creating engaging video content for a US audience is a major plus

Experience and willingness using AI tools for work efficiency

Fluency in meme culture, internet humor, and understanding of what types of videos engage users in short form and long form content

Experience with motion graphics and basic animation

Understanding of platform-specific video requirements and optimization

Ability to turn around edits quickly while maintaining high quality standards

Comfortable editing videos that mix educational/financial content with comedy, personality, or skit-based storytelling

Excellent communication skills and ability to take feedback constructively

Must be comfortable working overlapping hours with U.S. time zones
