Ecosa is an Australian sleep and furniture brand selling across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and the United States, with creative production centered in Manila. The team has just finished doubling its output. The next chapter is about quality and speed through systems: AI-assisted production tools that generate scripts, statics and pre-production quality diagnostics, clear processes, and a leader who owns the quality bar.
You will lead the Manila advertising team through that shift, working through two established Team Leaders and directly with four designers and editors. This is a build role. The QC system you design becomes how Ecosa ships creative.
The Role
Own the quality bar for Ecosa's advertising creative, statics and video, and rebuild the team's speed through process and AI rather than hours. Success means nothing ships below the bar, the bar is written down, every ad earns its test budget, and turnaround times are predictable enough that the business trusts a due date again.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build and run the quality-control system
- Design the QC framework: written rubrics per format (statics, long forms, short forms, store and web videos) covering brand compliance, visual craft, copy and claims accuracy, platform specs and hook strength.
- Act as the final QC gate for advertising output before deployment, and make the gate a system of checklists, defined pass criteria and documented feedback rather than a personal bottleneck.
- Verify every product claim against the approved claims library. AI-assisted production makes this check more important, not less.
- Enforce the creative discipline rules: every ad concepted to justify its test budget, no flooding, and 360-degree thinking, where one concept properly executed across formats beats ten near-duplicates.
- Target a rising first-pass approval rate, with quality built in at brief and production stage rather than caught at review.
2. Regain speed through process
- Set and publish turnaround SLAs per format, and run feedback cycles inside 24 hours so editors are never blocked waiting on review.
- Enforce the maximum-rework standard of no task reworked twice. When rework spikes, diagnose the upstream cause, whether brief quality, reference gaps or unclear feedback, rather than absorbing it.
- Own workflow governance in ClickUp. Briefs carry an owner, a due date and correct tags at creation, and deployment dates are logged. These fields power the team's KPIs, so blank fields are a defect.
- Plan workload across the sprint calendar with your manager and protect launch and campaign deadlines.
3. Lead the AI-first production shift
- Work daily inside Ecosa's AI creative platform: brief-driven script and static generation, pre-production quality diagnostics, and persona and framework libraries.
- Use the AI diagnostic scores as a QC input at the pre-production gate, and feed structured quality feedback back into the tool so it improves.
- Drive the team's AI adoption against a stated H2 target for the share of production that is AI-assisted. Speed comes from tooling and process, never from silent overtime.
- Partner with the Senior Motion and AI Designer, your peer lead for the AI, Brand and Website streams. Learn the AI production stack from him and jointly run team upskilling that pairs your quality and brand-guidelines eye with his AI workflows, so the team develops both the eye and the tooling at once.
4. Lead the people
- Lead a team of six across design and editing, including two Team Leaders. Set clear expectations, plan workload and own development plans.
- Develop the Team Leaders. Their growth is your responsibility, and their capability is how quality scales when you are not in the room.
- Run documented monthly performance check-ins for every team member covering quality, output and behaviours, building the evidence base that drives fair and current performance decisions. This cadence is a core management system here and it is led by you.
- Give feedback that names the standard. Every rejection teaches the rubric, and the team should be able to predict a QC verdict before submitting.
- Grow QC capability across the team through trained reviewers, peer checks and self-QC habits.
5. Report with evidence
- Provide a clear monthly read on output volume, first-pass rate, rework rate, SLA adherence and per-person performance, grounded in ClickUp data rather than impressions.
- Flag quality and delivery risks early, with a proposed fix.
What success looks like
30 days
- Knows every team member, their work and the current pipeline. Has audited recent output against brand standards. QC rubric v1 drafted with your manager. Working relationship established with both Team Leaders.
90 days
- QC gate running on all statics and edits. Turnaround SLAs published. Due-date and brief-governance discipline visibly recovering. Monthly check-ins running for all six reports.
6 months
- First-pass approval rate rising. Rework within the no-second-rework standard. Deadlines trusted. Team AI adoption measurably up against target. Both Team Leaders operating with visibly more autonomy. Performance decisions supported by six months of documented evidence.
Success measures
Aligned to the team's H2 framework.
- Quality. First-pass approval rate, rework rate per task, claims and compliance accuracy with zero shipped violations, efficiency of spend per creative.
- Speed. SLA adherence, on-time delivery against due dates, feedback turnaround.
- AI and agility. Team adoption of the AI platform and new processes, share of AI-assisted production against target.
- Governance. Brief, due-date and deployment-date completeness on team tasks.
- People. Monthly check-ins held and documented for all reports, evidence of Team Leader development, team development evidence.
Requirements
- 8 or more years in design, video production or creative production, of which at least two years are full-time on Western-market brands. The Western-market requirement is non-negotiable.
- At least three years managing people, including direct experience managing team leaders or supervisors rather than individual contributors only.
- Portfolio of paid-social advertising creative, Meta and Instagram first, with performance context. You can explain what worked, what did not, and why.
- Demonstrated QC ownership. You have written and enforced a quality standard and can show the rubric or process you built and what it changed.
- Evidence of developing people, including performance conversations, documented underperformance handled well, and someone who progressed because of you.
- Process builder. Evidence of taking a chaotic pipeline and making it predictable through SLAs, intake rules and feedback loops.
- Genuine fluency or strong curiosity with AI creative tools for image and video generation and AI review and diagnostics, with a clear view on where humans must stay in the loop for claims, brand and taste.
- Video editing literacy sufficient to QC edits credibly across pacing, hooks, cuts, sound and captions.
- Excellent written and spoken English. You write feedback people can act on without a meeting. Most of your stakeholders are in another country and most of your communication is written.
Nice to have
- Hands-on editing or design background across Premiere, After Effects, Figma or Photoshop.
- E-commerce or DTC background, with an understanding of direct-response creative that is hook-first, claim-led and offer-aware.
- Experience introducing AI tools to a production team and managing the change.
- Familiarity with ClickUp or comparable production-management systems.
- Experience working across time zones with a head office in another market.
