Role Overview

The Vice President – Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic enabler supporting senior business leaders across key banking segments such as consumer banking, corporate banking, branch banking, and support functions. This role drives the execution of the people agenda within a large, complex, and highly matrixed organization, ensuring alignment with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term growth objectives.

The role requires a seasoned HR leader with deep experience in the banking sector, capable of navigating a high-volume, performance-driven environment while maintaining strong governance and risk discipline. Exposure to international banking practices is highly valued to help elevate HR standards and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and business heads across multiple banking divisions.
  • Translate business strategies into actionable HR initiatives that support revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer-centricity.
  • Drive workforce planning and organizational design to support expansion, branch network optimization, and digital initiatives.

Talent & Leadership Management

  • Lead enterprise-wide talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives for critical roles.
  • Strengthen leadership bench strength across frontline banking, middle management, and executive levels.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify high-potential talent and accelerate development programs.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Champion a strong service-oriented and performance-driven culture across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, particularly within branch networks and frontline roles.
  • Address retention challenges in high-turnover segments through targeted interventions.

Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management

  • Support large-scale transformation initiatives, including process improvements, and organizational restructuring.
  • Lead change management efforts ensuring smooth transitions across branches and head office functions.
  • Promote agile ways of working while balancing structure and compliance requirements.

HR Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Philippine labor laws and internal governance frameworks.
  • Partner with risk, compliance, and audit teams on people-related regulatory matters.
  • Handle complex employee relations issues with a strong understanding of reputational and operational risks.

HR Operations & Collaboration

  • Work closely with HR Centers of Excellence (Compensation & Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver integrated HR solutions at scale.
  • Support large employee populations with consistent and efficient HR service delivery.
  • Leverage HR analytics to inform decision-making and improve workforce outcomes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong progressive HR experience, with senior HRBP or leadership role.
  • Mandatory experience in the banking or financial services sector, preferably within a large universal or commercial bank.
  • Exposure to international banking institutions or multinational environments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large, geographically dispersed workforces (e.g., branch networks).
  • Strong background in organizational development, talent management, and change leadership.
  • Solid understanding of Philippine labor laws and regulatory requirements relevant to banking.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
