Role Description

The Vice Chancellor for Administration provides strategic leadership and overall direction for the University's administrative and support services. The position ensures that key administrative functions are effectively coordinated and aligned with the University's mission, institutional priorities, policies, and operational requirements.

The Vice Chancellor oversees major administrative units, including Human Resources, Procurement, Health Services, Engineering, Facilities Management, General and Ancillary Services, as well as Data Privacy. The position works closely with academic, mission, finance, information technology, and basic education leaders to ensure efficient, responsive, and integrated university operations.

The role also provides leadership in institutional committees and administrative processes, contributing to sound governance, employee welfare, campus development, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the University's administrative and support service units.
  • Ensure effective coordination and delivery of Human Resources, Procurement, Health, Engineering, Facilities, General Services, Ancillary Services, and Data Privacy functions.
  • Develop and implement administrative policies, systems, and initiatives that support institutional goals and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor the performance of administrative units and promote accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Vice Chancellor for Mission and Development, Basic Education Principal, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Finance, IT Head, and other institutional leaders on matters requiring cross-functional coordination.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on administrative, operational, personnel, facilities, and institutional concerns.
  • Support effective resource management, risk management, regulatory compliance, and the efficient use of university facilities and services.
  • Foster a professional, collaborative, and service-oriented administrative culture across the University.
  • Chair and provide leadership to designated institutional committees, including the Personnel Management Council, Administrative Personnel Board, Grievance Board, Campus Improvement and Maintenance Committee, Housing Loan Committee, Institutional Random Drug Testing Program, and Committee on Decorum.
  • Serve as a member of the Operations Council, Bidding Committee, and Finance Committee (Internal).
  • Represent the administration in relevant institutional activities, meetings, and external engagements as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the University President or appropriate senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree holder; graduate studies is preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in high-level administrative support, human resources, security management, facilities management, or related functions is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Keen business and organizational sense, with the ability to understand institutional priorities and operational requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and accountability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a dynamic institutional environment.
