Overall Purpose of The Job

  • The Travel Desk Vessel Coordination Lead is accountable for developing, implementing, maintaining and operating the centralised crew change planning, execution, and cost controlling

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

  • Work with the larger organisation across on developing & setting up the best-in-class centralised crew change planning, execution, and cost controlling.
  • Function as the process owner to develop a simplistic and digitalised process and procedure for the use of the travel desk vessel coordination team.
  • Own transition of crew change activities across all function into the travel desk vessel logistics centre.
  • As the process owner for crew change process, constantly identify digital solutions and best practices to help streamline process and improve operational and cost efficiency.
  • Work with both internal and external parties on constantly finding ways to help reduce crew change cost for the customers.
  • Build a strong team of travel desk vessel seniors and coordinators, working with the team to delivery constant flawless service delivery to the internal and external customers.
  • Define, communicate and deliver against clear service level agreement (SLAs) framework and constantly work on improving overall operational performance of the travel desk vessel logistics team.
  • Work with colleagues across geographies and functions on consistent adoption and standardisation of crew change processes for existing and future clients and customer's needs.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with Crew Logistics Manager on seamlessly service delivery of the entire crew change process.
  • Own engagement with leadership teams across the global range of V. offices on both adoption and service delivery of best-in-class crew change planning, execution and cost-cost controlling.
  • Own and manage issues and escalations (L2/L3) for critical customers.
  • Act as the inhouse SME and support Commercial and Operational teams on customer engagement of crew change process and standards.
  • Accountable in developing and communicating strategic priorities and initiatives of the travel desk vessel coordination team to key internal and external parties.
  • Ensure seamless working relations with the travel desk crew logistics team to drive best-in-class crew change and crew logistics process and execution.
  • Lead and develop competencies of the senior colleagues and individual contributors.
  • Other tasks that may be assigned by the leadership team as needed.

Essential

  • 10 years relevant crewing experience working in the maritime industry in a leadership capacity.
  • Experienced in managing colleagues, customers, vendors across all levels and geographies.
  • Excellent knowledge of terminal operation, vessel characteristics, and e2e crew change management.
  • Must possess a Bachelor's/College Degree from any field with relevant experience.
  • Excellent experience in port operation planning, in a shipping line and/or logistics company.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.

  • Shows strong sense of urgency to meet customer requirements.

Desirable

  • Experience in setting up and managing of department and transitioning of workload across locations/functions.
  • Previous experience with Customer Service and Service Deliveries.
  • Previous sailing experience as a senior officer in a maritime company.
