The Vendor Manager is responsible for developing and implementing vendor management policies and strategies to onboard and retain a robust portfolio of vendors. This role focuses on establishing processes for transport and subcontractor selection, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and conducting continuous reviews of existing vendors.
Responsibilities
- Vendor Development: Build a pool of vendors to support the onboarding of various customers.
- Performance Management: Develop, administer, and conduct performance reviews (KPI-driven) with vendors.
- Escalation Point: Act as a point of escalation for disputes related to operations, services, contracts, or rates.
- KPI Administration: Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for vendor performance.
- Training & Onboarding: Ensure vendors receive full training for readiness and onboarding.
- Collaboration: Work with various departments and third-party suppliers to enhance operational efficiency.
- Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments on trucking support to mitigate potential issues.
- Retention Programs: Create and administer retention and rewards/penalty programs for vendors.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process development and optimization.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year in supply chain and logistics
- 3-4 years in logistics-related procurement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and contract preparation abilities.
- Excellent communication skills (both spoken and written).
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with local transport laws and regulations.
- Understanding of various transport models in the Philippines.
