The Vendor Development Specialist is responsible for strengthening and expanding the organization's operational capacity by developing, onboarding, and sustaining a reliable pool of partners, vendors, or resources. This role ensures that supply (e.g., transport units, manpower, or service providers) is aligned with current and projected demand, while maintaining quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.
The position sits at the intersection of operations, vendor management, and strategic planning—translating business requirements into actionable capacity-building initiatives.

Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage, negotiate, and build relationships with external partners
- Demonstrated ability to conduct field sourcing and partner acquisition, including willingness to travel and perform on-site assessments
- In-depth knowledge of fleet types and specifications, with the ability to optimize unit selection based on load requirements, route constraints, and cost efficiency
- Proven experience in capacity planning, sourcing, and vendor management, preferably in logistics, transport, or supply chain operations
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills across operations, planning, and commercial teams
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess capacity gaps, utilization, and partner performance
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives and timelines simultaneously
- Physically fit and willing to conduct fieldwork, including site visits and partner inspections
