We are seeking an experienced
VDC Clash Detection Assistant with at least
5 years of experience to support our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team. This role will work directly with the VDC Manager, assisting with day-to-day clash detection, model coordination, and workflow management across active commercial construction projects.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience using
Navisworks for clash detection, a solid understanding of
Revitand model coordination workflows, and a background in architecture or engineering. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple project stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the VDC Manager with daily clash detection activities using Navisworks.
- Perform clash detection between architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other building systems.
- Assist with model federation and bridging using Revit and Navisworks workflows.
- Track, document, and monitor clash resolution progress across multiple disciplines.
- Identify and flag coordination issues between MEP systems and other building components for review.
- Maintain model upload logs, version control, and coordination records across subcontractor teams.
- Assist in preparing coordination files and supporting VDC meetings as needed.
- Ensure project models remain organized, current, and aligned with established coordination standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams to support coordination efforts.
- Provide general VDC workflow and administrative support as assigned by the VDC Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in VDC, BIM coordination, or clash detection.
- Advanced proficiency in Navisworks with proven hands-on clash detection experience (required).
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Revit-to-Navisworks model coordination workflows.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models across architectural, structural, and MEP trades.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and building systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple active projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Experience supporting healthcare construction projects.
- Experience working on complex facilities such as healthcare, industrial, airport, correctional, laboratory, or other MEP-intensive projects.
- Familiarity with the broader Autodesk ecosystem, including AutoCAD and other BIM tools.
- Exposure to multidisciplinary VDC coordination processes and construction coordination meetings.
- Experience working with remote project teams in a collaborative environment.
