Onsite – Baguio City, PH
Reporting to the Cell Leader, the Valve Cell Operator is responsible for ensuring product quality through operation of lathe and flat lap machines. This role involves documentations, Machine operation, parts process, skill retention and flexibility.
Responsibilities
In Documentation:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, operation sheet and other authorized work instructions.
- Document incoming, outgoing and nonconforming parts.
- Access Moog web and apps for work documents, documentation, transactions and references.
In Machine Operations And Parts Process
- Operate lathe and flat lap machines.
- Familiar with lapping compounds properties and preparation.
- Perform Ilap, OD ringlap and fit on sleeve and slider/ piston with high passing rate at test.
- Perform Ilap- fit of sleeve/ cylinder and piston assy.
- Perform machine and manual flat lap on seat, poppet, shim or washer.
- Identify lapping in process nonconformance and their applicable corrective action.
- Set up and adjust arbor press, riveter, air motor, vibro-engraver and other hand tools.
- Perform special process chemical conversion coating touch-up, sealant, potting and primer application.
- Perform bushing installation.
- Perform pin installation.
- Perform riveting.
- Perform staking.
- Identify sub-assembly in process nonconformance and their applicable corrective action.
- Operate and maintain common equipment (oven, degreasers, deburring air motor, vibro-engraver, sealer, etc).
- Perform part marking such as rubber stamping and vibro-engraving.
- Perform simple deburring and polishing on edges and surface or parts.
- Identify machines or equipment malfunction and their basic troubleshooting.
- Perform aqueous cleaning, demagnetizing and bag and tag in accordance with requirements, FOD and standards.
- Demonstrate all safety during machine operation, part process and tools and materials handling.
- Familiar with the chemicals being used, understand labels and practice safety standards in chemical handling, storage and disposal.
In Skill Retention and Flexibility
- Provide support of Ilap, OD Ring lap, Fit and Flat lap at other work center or BU with common operation.
- Update STOJ or skills matrix as required.
EDUCATION
- 3 yrs. Eng'g. undergraduate (ME / ECE / IE / Mechatronics) + GMS Course Graduate; or
- 3 yrs. Technical Graduate; or
- High Sch. Grad. + GMS Course grad. + 2 years Machine Shop experience (or can demonstrate capability to operate machine): - 100 hours in Lathe CNC/ Conventional Machines
- 100 hours for Mill CNC / Conventional Machines
- 100 hours CNC grinds / Conventional with Tool and Cutter Grinding
Experience
At least 1year related experience, an advantage
Skills
- Blueprint reading
- Good eye-hand coordination in performing lathe operation
- Working knowledge of the Lean Management System, Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement as well as Zero Defect Mindset supporting the Moog Quality System.
