UX Designer

Key Responsibilities

• Create and execute original digital design concepts for digital platforms.
• Develop mock-ups, visual concepts, wireframes and prototypes to communicate design ideas.
• Design user interface layouts and templates for standard and customised websites and forms.
• Ensure digital materials align with established branding and visual identity standards.
• Define visual elements including typography, iconography, colour, style sheets and information design.
• Provide design, layout, aesthetic and photographic art direction based on stakeholder requirements.
• Develop user experiences and prototypes based on research, user needs and business requirements.
• Develop and maintain digital design standards, guidelines and web style guides.
• Identify opportunities to improve user journeys, accessibility and overall digital experience.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, content teams and external suppliers to deliver project outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of digital design processes, standards and practices.

Key Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in digital design, UI/UX design and web/digital platforms.
• Strong experience with wireframing, prototyping and visual design.
• Experience developing and implementing digital branding and design/style guidelines.
• Strong understanding of user experience, responsive design and accessibility.
• Experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or similar.
• Strong knowledge of typography, colour, iconography and information design.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with developers, content teams and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Strong project management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to urgent and changing requirements.
• Experience working within complex and changing environments.

Desirable Skills

• Experience within higher education, government or large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of WCAG and digital accessibility standards.
• Experience developing and maintaining design systems and web style guides.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or HTML/CSS.
• Experience working with external agencies or digital design suppliers.
