The Team Lead role will be to manage a subset of remote Clinical Abstractors providing feedback, removing roadblocks, and coaching. Manage team's capacity, including hiring, onboarding, training, and staffing to projects. Ensure all processes run smoothly and Clinical Quality work is completed on-time. Work with cross-functional teams to develop, prioritize and implement quality plans to reduce/mitigate risk to abstraction quality. Oversee creation, standardization, documentation, and improvement of team workflows and processes to ensure delivery of high-quality, abstracted data at scale.
Qualifications Experience & Required Skills:
- PHRNs/ USRNs with excellent understanding of Anatomy, Physiology & Medical Terms & Terminologies
- 6 – 8 years of experience in medical abstraction / clinical documentation experience with 2 years of team handling experience would be preferred.
- Good English communication skills
- Knowledge of various source documents such as Cytogenetics, FISH reports, NGS molecular diagnostic reports, Flow cytometry reports, Clinical notes, summaries and various lab reports.
- Knowledge of medical abstraction tools such Label Studio or other data capture platforms
- Knowledge of standard medical ontologies such as SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm, HGNC, ISCN, MedDRA, ICD-O-3 and other onotologies
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for on time completion of assigned cases and adherence to quality standards
- Daily Huddle with all Abstractors to allocate the task for the day and discuss any efficiency concerns
- Identify core team (efficiency & quality) of Abstractors to tackle volume surge
- Identify weaker Abstractors (efficiency & quality) and monitor their efficiency daily
- Focus also on new Abstractors and random check on efficiencies and daily feedback to Abstractors and Service Delivery Manager
- Identifying charts with a very high number of documents and intimating to Client for extension of Timelines
- Ensuring mentor tagging for weaker Abstractors to meet efficiency and quality
- Providing proper feedback on volumes and efficiencies to SDM through daily connects.
