Job Description

The Role

The Usage Group Category Head will be responsible for formulating strategies, conceptualizing initiatives, and overseeing the implementation of usage campaigns and programs for assigned categories to ensure the achievement of credit card billing targets. You will be expected to lead negotiations and manage relationships with both new and existing merchant partners. You should also be adept at managing internal and external stakeholders and resolving any campaign-related issues or concerns that may arise.

How you'll contribute

  • Ensure on-time launch and seamless execution of usage programs, including merchant negotiations, internal approvals, and release of communications to cardholders.
  • Establish and cultivate merchant partner relationships and negotiate relevant, compelling promos for the debit and credit cardholder base.
  • Handles and resolves usage campaign or promo-related cases from cardholders, escalated by CCG or other channels.
  • Monitors performance of each campaign through timely reports and dashboards and regularly update the Leaderboard.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Category Managers

What we're looking for

  • Must have 510 years of relevant experience in the credit card industry or related fields.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large portfolios and cross-functional teams
  • Strong background in driving card usage, spend growth, and customer engagement
  • Experience owning P&L, revenue targets, and usage KPIs
  • Track record of launching and scaling usage-led initiatives (rewards, offers, partnerships, lifecycle campaigns)
  • Deep understanding of credit card economics (interchange, revolvers vs. transactors, cost of rewards, risk trade-offs)
  • Ability to develop and execute usage growth strategies across customer segments
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating merchant, brand, and ecosystem partnerships
  • Expertise in category management, portfolio optimization, and value proposition design
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong command of usage analytics and behavioral insights
  • Ability to influence and align marketing, product, risk, tech, analytics, and operations team
