US Tax Analyst
Location: Hybrid - 3 days in-office
Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Office Hours
About the Role
We are looking for a US Tax Analyst to support payroll tax compliance, reporting, and audits across federal, state, and local jurisdictions. You will partner with Payroll Operations, Accounting, and Finance teams to ensure accurate tax filings, maintain audit-ready documentation, and help drive process improvements in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time
- Maintain tax configurations and create payroll adjustments as needed
- Analyze payroll and financial data to identify tax impacts and reconcile variances
- Research and interpret tax laws recommend compliant solutions
- Monitor tax legislation changes and communicate business impacts
- Resolve tax notices and support audits with proper documentation
- Validate tax setup in payroll systems and escalate issues as necessary
- Track and manage requests using ticketing tools (e.g., Zendesk)
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate tax treatment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll tax compliance or US tax operations
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax rules and filings
- Strong data analysis and reconciliation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and Microsoft 365 tools
- Experience with payroll/tax systems (PRISM, MasterTax) and case-management tools (Zendesk)
Preferred
- Experience in multi-state payroll tax compliance
- Familiarity with PRISM or comparable payroll/tax system
- Prior exposure to MasterTax or similar tax filing tools
