DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Categorize transactions across multiple client accounts
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
- Maintain fixed asset and prepaid schedules
- Own and complete the month-end close process for assigned clients, ensuring all deliverables are accurate and completed on time to allow sufficient internal review before client deadlines
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and perform variance analysis, highlighting material fluctuations and items requiring review
- Report variances, issues, and insights directly to the Senior Accountant
- Communicate with clients primarily via email
- Support employee onboarding in Gusto
- Post journal entries and reconcile benefits monthly
- Perform trust account reconciliations for law firm clients
- Assist with data collection and data entry as needed
- Handle other assigned tasks as needed to support the team's workflow
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3–5 years of US bookkeeping or accounting experience in a US-based firm, managing multiple clients
- Demonstrated experience owning the month-end close process in a multi-client environment
- Strong ability to work under firm deadlines with minimal supervision, ensuring work is completed accurately and on time
- Experience performing variance analysis and identifying material fluctuations for internal review
- Comfortable flagging issues early and communicating clearly with the Senior Accountant to support timely review and client delivery
- Experience in law firm accounting is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required; experience with Gusto and Karbon is a plus
- Excellent written communication skills
