HE ROLEThe Senior Tax Accountant owns the technical execution, coordination, and management of tax return preparation and related compliance services, working in concert with an Experienced Tax Manager and under the supervision of the Senior Tax Manager. This role is the primary compliance workflow owner for assigned client matters, bridging the administrative execution performed by the Tax Administrator and the high-level technical oversight provided by the Senior Tax Manager. The Senior Tax Accountant exercises meticulous attention to detail in preparing and reviewing returns, develops staff preparers, and communicates with clients on compliance matters, while escalating complex, novel, or high-risk issues to the Senior Tax M
anager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSI
- BILITIESPreparation and review: Coordinate the compliance workflow and review of US individual and entity tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, and related schedules), including select high-net-worth client cases, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency with prior-year filings, and alignment with supporting wor
- kpapers.Quality control: Provide consolidated review notes, confirm readiness for senior-level review, and submit returns to the Senior Tax Manager with a supporting review package and identified pain points for final review and s
- ign-off.Client communication: Serve as a point of contact for return-related client communications, in concert with the Senior Tax Manager; issue draft and final returns via the client portal, and respond to client questions on contents, filing mechanics, and approved payment instr
- uctions.Notices and compliance support: Assist, in coordination with the Senior Tax Manager, with reviewing IRS and state tax notices, preparing draft responses, and coordinating related client communi
