CLIENT BACKGROUND
Our client is a fast-growing U.S.-based accounting firm specializing in orthodontists and dental practices. They provide monthly bookkeeping, financial reporting, and advisory support to clients across the United States.
Their environment is best described as entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and growth-oriented, where team members are trusted to take ownership of their work while contributing to a collaborative and efficient workflow.
As the firm continues to grow, they are looking for a technically strong Senior Bookkeeper who can help improve financial accuracy, support month-end processes, and reduce operational bottlenecks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review balance sheets and profit & loss statements for accuracy
- Perform loan and payroll tie-outs
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
- Support month-end close activities
- Review coding completed by the existing bookkeeper
- Post adjusting journal entries as needed
- Identify trends, variances, and discrepancies in monthly financials
- Perform catch-up bookkeeping and cleanup work for new clients
- Prepare and oversee 1099 filings
- Prepare personal property tax filings for clients across multiple states
- Assist with tax preparation support as needed
- Collaborate with the team to improve reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience within a U.S. accounting firm
- Strong understanding of month-end close and financial review processes
- Advanced QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience required
- Strong reconciliation and tie-out experience
- Ability to identify financial discrepancies and investigate issues independently
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with Fathom financial reporting software
- Exposure to tax preparation support
- Experience preparing 1099s or personal property tax filings
