What is the job
The US Payroll Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing accurate and timely payroll while ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. The role partners closely with People Operations and payroll counterparts to resolve payroll inquiries, maintain employee records, and support payroll reporting requirements.
- Calculate and process salaries, hourly wages, benefits, bonuses, commissions, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and other employee record changes.
- Maintain payroll records and prepare recurring payroll reports.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of payroll processing experience, preferably in U.S. payroll or in a client-facing/service-oriented environment.
- Must have stable employment history.
- Experience using payroll systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with U.S. payroll systems or processes.
- Has knowledge in U.S. wage and hour laws.
