The Clearance Specialist is responsible for reviewing, validating, and managing customer account requests to ensure information is accurate, complete, and compliant with established company policies and procedures.
The specialist evaluates account information, identifies duplicates or potential conflicts, reviews historical account activity, and determines whether requests should be cleared, denied, placed on hold, or escalated for further review.
This position works closely with Sales, Operations, Credit, Legal, and other internal teams to support accurate and efficient account setup, activation, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and process new customer account and account clearance requests.
• Review customer names, legal entities, addresses, locations, agents, offices, and other identifying information to detect potential duplicate or related accounts.
• Research existing and historical customer records to identify account relationships, previous activity, restrictions, or potential conflicts.
• Escalate account requests according to established policies, procedures, and authorization levels.
• Review complex or non-standard situations requiring additional analysis and judgment.
• Identify missing or inconsistent information and request additional documentation or clarification when necessary.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Credit, Legal, and other internal departments to resolve account-related issues.
• Ensure requests are processed within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual work, improve data quality, and increase efficiency.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding account clearance requirements, documentation, and procedures.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience in Customer Master Data, Account Setup, Credit Operations, Shared Services, Order-to-Cash, or a related operational function is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with large volumes of customer or account information is preferred.
• Ability to research and reconcile information across multiple systems.
