Our client is an innovator and market leader in engineered, easy-to-install shower systems designed for efficiency, durability, and performance. The company specializes in one-piece shower pans, integrated curbs and entrances, splash walls, and polyvinyl chloride drains, along with complementary products such as shelves, benches, niches, and ledges.

All products allow installers to apply tile directly onto a leak-proof surface. This significantly simplifies the shower installation process for building professionals and contractors, reducing installation time and labor costs while delivering high-quality, customizable solutions for residential and institutional projects.

 

About the Role

The US General Accountant is an experienced, highly autonomous professional responsible for managing the day-to-day transactional accounting needs of a lean finance department. Reporting directly to the Executive VP for Finance, you will serve as a primary accounting resource. 

A Structured, Phased Onboarding:

  • Phase 1 (Months 1–3): AP & Close Ownership: Take absolute control of the AP email inbox, execute daily bill entries in QuickBooks, handle bank/expense reconciliations, and assist the EVP with month-end close tasks (rebates, accruals, payroll).
  • Phase 2 (Month 4+): Gradual Scope Expansion: Once Phase 1 is fully self-sustaining, you will gradually absorb Accounts Receivable (collections, cash apps) and simple, coordination-based inventory workflows (SKU creation, cycle adjustment updates). (Note: No advanced manufacturing inventory accounting required—full training on operational workflows will be provided.)

What You'll Do

  • AP Inbox Management: Take full ownership of the accounts payable inbox, keeping all incoming bills organized and ensuring consistent, timely data entry.
  • Transaction Management: Execute general ledger (GL) transactions, handle GL coding, process accruals, and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks.
  • Reconciliations: Reconcile bank and expense transactions routinely, proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Month-End Close: Perform routine calculations and journal entries for rebates, commissions, freight, and payroll under the guidance of the EVP of Finance.
  • System Navigation: Securely access e-commerce and retail customer portals (e.g., Amazon, major retailers) to independently download transaction details, statements, and remittance information.
  • Accounts Receivable & Operations: Oversee customer billing, collections, and cash applications upon transition to Phase 2.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Manage routine business inquiries from vendors regarding payments and customers regarding deposits with professional polish and clarity.

What You Bring

  • Experience: 3–5+ years of hands-on experience preparing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting transactions.
  • Core Skillset: 
  • Deep proficiency in QuickBooks (or similar accounting software) and comfortable with general data navigation across diverse portals.
  • Accounting Frameworks: Strong foundational knowledge of standard accounting frameworks. Experience under either IFRS or US GAAP is highly preferred.
  • Industry Context: Background in E-commerce, Retail, BPO, or Manufacturing environments. (Manufacturing is a plus, but not required).
  • Tenure & Stability: A proven track record of career stability (demonstrated tenure in previous roles, avoiding consecutive short-term or transitional stints).
  • Mindset & Behavioral Traits:
  • Autonomous Self-Starter: Proven ability to manage a workload independently, problem-solve proactively, and implement process improvements in a lean environment.
  • Process Optimization Mindset: A history of proactively identifying bottlenecks and driving process improvements (e.g., streamlining an AP inbox workflow).
  • High-Autonomy & Collaborative Balance: Outstanding ability to work independently without needing step-by-step instructions. You must possess the professional skepticism to investigate discrepancies on your own, balanced with the maturity to raise your hand and collaborate with the EVP of Finance before an ambiguity escalates.
