The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Asset Servicing oversees the end-to-end lifecycle of US Corporate Action events within the Prime Brokerage sector. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of event scrubbing, the integrity of client notifications, and the timely settlement of proceeds. The AVP plays a critical role in risk mitigation by managing complex election processes and resolving financial breaks within a high-pressure environment.
Event Oversight & Execution
Scrubbing & Setup: Monitor and configure US domestic corporate events, ensuring data accuracy and identification of eligible global positions.
Client Notification: Analyze complex event terms and guarantee the timely transmission of notifications and offer terms to clients.
Election Management: Oversee the election process for voluntary events, aggregating instructions for agents/custodians and ensuring successful receipt.
Financial Booking: Process the booking of Income and Corporate Action proceeds into client accounts on the pay date, ensuring full reconciliation in accounting systems.
Reconciliation & Risk Mitigation
Lifecycle Controls: Monitor books and records at all stages of the event lifecycle, comparing theoretical bookings against forecast assumptions.
Dispute & Claim Management: Manage claims for receivables/payables with external parties in alignment with global policy and wire form standards.
Exception Handling: Resolve outstanding breaks and reconciliation items in a timely manner, utilizing established escalation procedures.
Process Optimization: Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by proposing updates to procedures and enhancing existing risk controls.
Subject Matter Expertise: Deep understanding of the US Corporate Actions lifecycle and Prime Brokerage operations.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Excel and financial accounting systems.
Analytical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise solid judgment under pressure.
Organizational Excellence: Rigorous attention to detail and strong time-management skills to meet strict market cut-offs.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills for collaborating with global support functions and external stakeholders.
