Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Carrier Sales Representative to act as the main link between the
company and its clients, source truck capacity, negotiate rates, build carrier relationships, and
manage freight execution. This individual will play a key role in building good ties with
accounts, ensuring freight is covered efficiently while maintaining strong service levels and
profitability.
This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have a minimum of two years of carrier
sales or freight brokerage experience.
Responsibilities
* Maintain good relationships with clients.
* Source and secure truck capacity for customer freight.
• Develop and maintain relationships with carriers across North America.
• Negotiate competitive rates and transportation agreements.
• Cover freight efficiently while maintaining service expectations and margin goals.
• Monitor market conditions, carrier capacity, and pricing trends.
• Track shipments from pickup through delivery.
• Communicate proactively with carriers regarding load status and service issues.
• Resolve transportation challenges and service disruptions.
• Assist with carrier onboarding and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems.
• Continuously expand and strengthen carrier relationships.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of carrier sales or freight brokerage experience.
• Proven ability to source capacity and cover freight successfully.
• Strong understanding of trucking markets, lane pricing, and carrier
negotiations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated, competitive, and results-driven.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Existing carrier network and relationships.
• Experience with DAT, Truckstop, Carrier411, RMIS, McLeod, or similar industry platforms.
