DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping activities, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and supporting month-end closing processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring invoices, payments, and outstanding balances are processed accurately and on time.
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Process and reconcile payroll transactions, including payroll journal entries, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules to assist leadership in monitoring business performance across multiple hospitality concepts.
  • Support sales tax and payroll tax reporting requirements by maintaining accurate records and assisting with filings as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting inquiries, improve financial processes, and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and applicable financial regulations.
  • Assist with additional accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks as needed to support the finance team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of U.S. bookkeeping or accounting experience; hospitality industry experience is highly preferred, and accounting firm experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a solid understanding of journal entries, sales tax, and payroll tax processes.
  • Experience with Xero is required.
  • Experience with Restaurant365, Toast Payroll, Bill.com, and Hubdoc is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and independent decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines effectively and work independently.
