Now, as we scale from 17 to 40+ team members, were looking for a tech-savvy, people-first Accounting Manager to help lead that growth and elevate our standards of excellence even higher.

The Role: Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly organized Accounting Project Manager with experience in U.S. home trades and construction accounting and strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online. This role acts as the bridge between accounting operations and client relationships, ensuring financial processes are executed accurately while maintaining strong communication with clients.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple accounting projects or client accounts simultaneously. This role requires strong project coordination, financial oversight, and client communication skills to ensure smooth accounting workflows and high-quality financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee daily accounting functions: GL, AP, AR, reconciliations
  • Manage month-end and year-end close
  • Ensure accurate financial statements, job costing, and project tracking in QuickBooks Online

Team Leadership & Task Management

  • Assign and prioritize tasks, monitor productivity, and review work
  • Coach and support accounting staff
  • Coordinate with operations/project managers for financial data

Financial Oversight & Decision Making

  • Analyze financial data to support decisions and identify trends
  • Approve entries, adjustments, and reconciliations
  • Recommend cost control and process improvements

Risk & Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks or errors
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and internal controls
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation

Planning & Process Improvement

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Optimize accounting workflows and implement automation tools
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of accounting experience
  • 2+ years of US Accounting background
  • 1+ years of construction or home services accounting experience
  • 1+ years of experience managing multiple teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online
  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with job costing and project-based accounting
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or client accounts simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing remote accounting teams
  • Experience with construction accounting workflows or WIP reporting
  • Familiarity with task management systems (ClickUp, Asana, or similar)
