Position Summary

As the Medical Quality Assurance Team Lead, you will oversee a team responsible for reviewing Home Health documentation, improving chart quality, supporting Medicare billing, and reducing claim denials.

You will coach team members, solve complex billing issues, collaborate with our U.S. clinical staff, and continuously improve operational processes that support patient care and reimbursement.

This role combines leadership, quality assurance, Medicare billing, and process improvement.

The work hours are US Pacific time, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do

Your typical responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Assurance team
  • Assign daily workloads and monitor team productivity
  • Provide ongoing training, mentoring, and performance feedback
  • Remove obstacles that prevent team members from achieving their goals
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Quality Assurance

  • Review Home Health medical records for accuracy and completeness
  • Audit clinical documentation to ensure compliance with Medicare regulations
  • Identify documentation deficiencies and work with clinicians to resolve them
  • Perform ongoing chart audits to improve documentation quality
  • Track trends and recommend process improvements

Medicare Billing & Reimbursement

  • Review documentation to maximize Medicare reimbursement
  • Analyze billing rejections and identify root causes
  • Resolve Medicare claim issues and payment discrepancies
  • Research ICD-10 coding questions and reimbursement regulations
  • Appeal low reimbursements and outlier payment determinations
  • Help reduce billing errors and improve claim acceptance rates

Collaboration

  • Drive clinicians and operational team members to complete tasks to enable QA to complete notes
  • Partner with U.S.-based nurses, therapists, and operations leaders
  • Create reports that monitor quality metrics and team performance
  • Support initiatives that improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
  • Strong Home Health experience
  • Expert knowledge of Medicare Home Health documentation
  • Experience leading remote healthcare teams
  • Advanced understanding of ICD-10 coding
  • Experience researching Medicare billing denials and claim rejections
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems – Wellsky (Kinnser)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Specifically Excel)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Previous experience working for a U.S. healthcare organization

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives
