The Role

This newly created role brings together important responsibilities in case management, creditor engagement, and proposal preparation.As the underwriter, you will be responsible for reviewing client budgets and affordability, liaising with creditors to gather accurate debt information, and conducting thorough final assessments to prepare proposals that creditors will accept. You will work closely with our Australia-based consultants, who serve as the client-facing advisors, while you handle the back-end assessments and processing that make each solution possible.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Creditor Engagement

  • Lead creditor communications by contacting secured and unsecured creditors, gathering relevant debt information, requesting moratoriums, and providing timely updates on client cases.

Case Management

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate clients eligibility and suitability for debt management solutions by carefully reviewing supporting documents and understanding their financial situations.
  • Develop sustainable and manageable payment plans that consider clients total debt, household income, and expenses, ensuring arrangements are practical and sustainable.
  • Collaborate closely with Debt Management Consultants, providing guidance and leveraging team knowledge to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients, while meeting creditor requirements.

Proposal Preparation

  • Support the preparation, review, and submission of Debt Agreement proposals and informal payment arrangements, making sure all legislative and organizational standards are met.
  • Contribute to risk management efforts by identifying compliance issues or breaches and working with management to develop effective strategies to address them.

In this role, you'll be working closely with our Australia-based counterparts, so strong collaboration and communication skills are essential. You'll bring both expertise and empathy to every case, ensuring that each client's financial situation is treated with care and professionalism. By combining your analytical skills with a client-first mindset, you'll deliver exceptional results that help our clients take meaningful steps toward financial freedom.

Key Requirements:

  • Significant experience as a Case Manager, Credit Underwriter, or in a similar role within the financial services industry is essential.
  • Experience working for an Australian company and the ability to collaborate within a multicultural team is a must.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is a must.
  • Strong understanding of personal financial documents (e.g., payslips, bank statements, profit and loss statements) and the ability to analyse them effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in both written and spoken English, with a professional demeanour when interacting with colleagues.
  • A genuine capacity for empathy, fostering a supportive and understanding environment for clients.

Salary and Income Expectations

Employment type: Full time permanent

  • Remuneration: 100,000.00 Monthly
