Job Summary**

The Underwriter Loans will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, assessing risk, and making informed decisions on loan approvals, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities**

  • Analyze and verify loan applications, financial statements, credit reports, and other supporting documentation to assess creditworthiness and risk.
  • Evaluate applicant's financial capacity, collateral, and repayment ability in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and policies.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with loan applications, escalating complex cases as needed to senior management.
  • Communicate effectively with loan officers, borrowers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant lending regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare detailed underwriting reports and recommendations for approval or denial of loan applications.
  • Maintain accurate and organized loan files and documentation throughout the underwriting process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes and procedures.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors impacting the lending industry.

Job Qualifications**

  • Proven experience as a Loan Underwriter, preferably within a BPO environment or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial statements, and various lending products (e.g., personal loans, mortgages, business loans).
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in using underwriting software and financial analysis tools.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant lending regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices.
  • A relevant bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is highly desirable.
