UH Building Manager to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
The UH Building Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintenance coordination, and occupancy management of Unaccompanied Housing (UH) facilities in accordance with Navy housing standards and community expectations. Responsibilities include managing building operations, monitoring facility conditions, coordinating service requests, and ensuring safe, clean, and habitable living environments for assigned personnel.
The UH Building Manager serves as the primary point of contact for residents, addressing housing concerns, enforcing occupancy policies, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. This role includes conducting routine inspections, documenting deficiencies, coordinating corrective actions with maintenance and facilities teams, and tracking work orders to completion.
Additional duties include maintaining housing records, managing room assignments and turnovers, coordinating check‑in and check‑out processes, and supporting housing inspections and audits. The UH Building Manager also assists with quality‑of‑life initiatives, emergency response coordination, and housing‑related reporting in a remote, mission‑driven environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, housing operations, property management, or related field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of building operations, preventive maintenance coordination, and occupancy management
- Strong administrative, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and interact professionally with residents and leadership
- Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Valid country driver's license
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
