Job Description

As a U.S. Bookkeeper and Payroll Administrator, you will manage end-to-end U.S. bookkeeping and U.S. payroll functions for multiple American clients. Your responsibilities include accurate payroll processing, tax reporting support, and maintaining clean, compliant financial records in accordance with U.S. regulations. Through precise reconciliation, documentation, and reporting, you will ensure books are audit-ready and payroll is processed accurately and on time-enabling clients to operate confidently while focusing on growth and long-term success.

The Qualifications We Seek

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on U.S. bookkeeping AND U.S. payroll experience (both are required)
  • Proven experience supporting U.S.-based clients, preferably gained within an accounting firm or similar professional services environment
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. payroll processes, compliance requirements, and bookkeeping best practices
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with confidence coordinating directly with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Willingness to work full onsiteat the Makati office or other nearby Emapta offices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • QuickBooks Online Certifications
  • Proficiency with modern IT tools and accounting systems
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
  • Positive, professional attitude with the ability to build trusting relationships

Your Daily Tasks

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients
  • Record and categorize financial transactions (bank, credit card, etc.)
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries with supporting documentation
  • Generate monthly financial reports, including balance sheets and profit & loss statements
  • Monitor client cash flow and flag discrepancies or unusual activity
  • Ensure client-specific accounting procedures are followed and deadlines are met
  • Work closely with CPAs to ensure books are clean and tax-ready
  • Assist in preparing year-end financial documentation for tax purposes in the United States of America
  • Stay current with bookkeeping best practices and QuickBooks Online features
