Truck Marshall

The Truck Marshall is responsible for assisting trucks during dispatch, controlling vehicle movement, and ensuring safe and orderly parking and yard operations. The role supports transport and delivery efficiency by managing traffic flow within company premises, enforcing safety and security protocols, and coordinating closely with dispatch, drivers, and security personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists delivery trucks during dispatch and return movements, guiding drivers in parking, maneuvering, and ensuring adherence to dispatch schedules and lane assignments.
• Manages truck parking areas by maintaining proper alignment, controlling parking activities, and coordinating vehicle repositioning as required.
• Enforces yard safety and traffic control procedures through the use of hand signals, barriers, and other guidance tools to support safe truck movement.
• Monitors and reports unsafe driving practices, potential hazards, congestion risks, and other safety concerns to the Dispatch Coordinator or Fleet Supervisor.
• Coordinates with security personnel to regulate vehicle entry and exit, enforce access restrictions, and report suspicious or non-compliant activities.
• Supports daily operations by coordinating with Dispatch Coordinators, Drivers, and Supervisors, managing truck queues, and assisting during peak periods or emergencies.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of truck staging and parking areas, ensures proper placement of traffic guides and signages, and performs other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• At least high school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in transport operations, yard management, traffic control, or similar roles is an advantage.
• Physically fit to work outdoors and assist with continuous vehicle movement.
