Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Treasury Supervisor

The Treasury Supervisor (Officer) is responsible for overseeing the company's non-life insurance programs and credit risk exposure across multiple business units, ensuring robust financial protection and effective risk mitigation. The role manages end to end insurance policy renewals, administers high value claims, and provides functional oversight of credit and accounts receivable activities handled by shared services. It also supports international transaction requirements, delivers analytical reports that guide Treasury decision making, and drives process improvements to strengthen compliance, operational efficiency, and enterprise risk management.

What are the Roles and Responsibilities

  • Insurance Policy Management (NonLife Local & International)
  • Lead endtoend renewal and procurement of nonlife insurance policies covering over 50 billion in company assets.
  • Secure quotations, review proposals, and negotiate with brokers to ensure optimal terms, pricing, and protection aligned with corporate risk exposures.
  • Coordinate with internal units for endorsements, coverage changes, and new insurance requirements.
  • Ensure all policies remain in force, uptodate, and compliant with risk standards.
  • Proactively monitor policy expiry dates to prevent coverage gaps.
  • Validate policy documents and endorsements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Insurance Claims Administration
  • Manage highvalue insurance claims reaching hundreds of millions of pesos, ensuring proper documentation, timely filing, and maximum recovery.
  • Work directly with senior leaders of Unicon and URC for complex or urgent claim matters.
  • Monitor claim statuses, follow up with brokers/insurers, and expedite processing.
  • Review denied claims and prepare appeals or contestations when necessary.
  • Escalate unresolved issues with recommended actions to the Treasury Manager.
  • Credit & Accounts Receivable (AR) Risk Management
  • Monitor enterprisewide credit exposures and trade receivables with potential impact in the hundreds of millions.
  • Review AR aging reports, credit line recommendations, and credit highlights prepared by the shared service team.
  • Identify potential collection risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide functional leadership to the shared service team handling AR and credit.
  • Serve as key liaison between shared services and internal stakeholders to resolve escalations and drive process efficiency.
  • Support for URC International Transactions
  • Handle documentation routed to or requiring PH top management approval on behalf of international units.
  • Validate and route documents promptly to ensure timely approvals and transmittals.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare reports on insurance renewals, claims performance, credit exposure, and other Treasury metrics.
  • Provide insights on risk mitigation, insurance optimization, and financial impact.
  • Quantify financial risks such as delays, coverage gaps, and inefficiencies.
  • Monitor KPIs including insurance costs, claim turnaround time, and broker performance.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Identify and implement improvements in Treasury processes involving insurance and AR risk.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits through documentation and expert insights.
  • Other Treasury Functions
  • Support special projects and other tasks assigned by the Treasury Manager.
  • Contribute to crossfunctional initiatives and Treasury's strategic goals.

What are the Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting, or related field.
  • 35 years of relevant experience in: Nonlife insurance policy management , Claims management , Credit or AR management
  • Experience working with or within a shared services environment is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of nonlife insurance, claims processes, and credit risk exposure.
  • Analytical with strong riskassessment and problemsolving abilities.
  • Excellent coordination, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and detailoriented.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative and dependable; able to manage crossfunctional interactions.
  • Certifications in risk management, insurance, treasury, or credit management (e.g., ARM, CRM, CTC, CIC) are preferred but not required
